In order to fulfil its mission of leading people as well as society to prosperity, Česká spořitelna selected our CTS system way back in 2008, and has been the bank’s main treasury system for trading ever since. Besides providing a direct trading solution, settlement of securities trades including online interface and settlement and administration of clients’ asset positions (custody), CTS supports the settlement and charging of OTC products (currency/interest rate options and swaps), ISB reporting of follow-up records, portfolio management for keeping status and accounting records of Česká spořitelna‘s portfolios, as well as the interface for the bank’s accounting and other systems and functionalities in the yield payment area (corporate actions). The new MiFID II / MiFIR European Directives, which brought fundamental changes in the provision of investment services, as well as the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), were also successfully implemented.

Our CTS solution operating at Raiffeisenbank covers a comprehensive solution of investment banking with an emphasis on securities trading for institutional clients and the settlement of securities trades. We have also been successful in expanding CTS into the field of investment product support, which was used by former retail clients of Citibank. In connection with the implementation of the new MiFID II / MiFIR European Directives and Raiffeisenbank‘s regulatory needs, the CTS system was expanded with the addition of Systematic Internalisation (SI) functionality. This functionality encompasses the recording of financial instruments meeting the SI conditions, the sending of information on the transactions realised (APA reporting) and namely the generation of ex-post reports publishing information on post-trade SI transparency. Thanks to these overviews, Raiffeisenbank clients obtain comprehensive about the quality of the trades carried out, or the likelihood of carrying out trades with the given financial instrument.

Citibank employs the CTS system mainly in the settlement of trasactions and orders realised via CDCP, recording of orders received and transactions with securities, creation of accounting records, monitoring of open positions in securities, and keeping of the bank’s own portfolio according to the defined methodologies. Furthermore, CTS also provides support for Citibank‘s clearing agent services. In accordance with the arrival of the new MiFID II Directive, the CTS system was customised in order to adapt the internal processes operating at Citibank in view of these most fundamental regulatory changes in the provision of investment services

This bank has been cooperating with CTS TRADE IT since April 2011, as of when CTS has been its main treasury system. Coverage of all functionalities in the field of securities trading on the stock exchange and direct settlement of securities trades not only in the Central Securities Depository of the Slovak Republic but also abroad, is a given. CTS is also employed in portfolio management for keeping status and accounting records of Slovenská spořitelna‘s portfolios, settlement and administration of clients’ asset positions (custody), settlement and charging of OTC products (currency/interest rate options, IRS/CIRS, currency forwards and swaps),  or loan/depo products. In 2017, CTS successfully expanded the product with the addition of the agenda of distributing mutual fund units of the company Asset Management Slovenské spořitelny. Up until 2017, Slovenská spořitelna had employed CTS in its branch network for securities trading, and in the current period the distribution of mutual fund units is also being arranged via CTS at the bank‘s branches. CTS has thus become the main system for recording clients’ individual positions in the distributed mutual fund units, which has resulted in a significant bolstering of CTS’s importance for Slovenská spořitelna. In 2017, we also helped Slovenská spořitelna to adapt the migration of its main system to the settlement of the central depository to the new European platform Target 2-Securities (T2S).

Slovenská spořitelna also uses the CTS system to perform the fund depository function, where the aim is namely to simplify and increase the efficiency of the processes performed by Slovenská spořitelna as a fund depository. CTS thus allows control of the assets within the funds and monitoring that they are correctly valued, calculation and verification of a fund’s receivables and payables, net asset value (NAV) of a fund, and control of the limits and structure of assets within the funds according to valid legislation and the funds’ statutes. It was also possible to implement modifications within CTS necessary in view of the new MiFID II / MiFIR European Directives, which have brought with them fundamenta changes in the provision of investment services on the European continent.

Both Unicredit CZ and Unicredit Slovakia use the CTS system namely as their main treasury system for making trades via the XETRA interface for its retail clients and for private banking clientele, for connecting trading abroad via third parties, where the customer uses an indirect access option, for the settlement of trades via the CDCP, for servising the agenda of regular investments into mutual  fund units, and for providing support in the sale of the bank‘s own products (bonds, certificates, shares), including arranging IPOs and their secondary trading. CTS is currently the primary system for investment services in the retail and private banking segment and used in the administration of investment questionnaires. CTS systematically arranges for Unicredit‘s efforts to provide investments into a wide range of mutual funds, its own issues, customised certificates or foreign securities. Within CTS is also implemented support for MiFID II / MiFIR requirements such as the new investment questionnaire, automatic assessment of an investment’s appropriateness and suitability, provision of underlying information, e.g. for the purposes of APA reporting. Besides the headquarters, CTS also services branches via its user-friendly web interface.
